Santa Checks His List Building Twice!

List Building Santa Check’s it Twice!

If you get yourself a large responsive list then it will feel like Santa is coming to town.  Big gifts will be bestowed upon you!

What would you give up your email address for?  If your interested in knowing something bad enough you would right.  Therefore, it is indeed what you know and your sharing it in emails that is attractive to a potential subscriber.  It’s also what you might be sharing in the future, so it benefits you to build credibility and to have regular helpful emails going out.

It’s also fair to say that you might subscribe to learn more about a person and who they know.  You might be interested in who they network with.  What better way to show your interest in a person than showing them your interested in what they have to say in emails.

So it pays to build relationships if you desire a following.  People may subscribe to start the process of building a relationship with you and your network.

In addition, I’d like to add it’s what you have to give as well.  For instance, maybe you can offer a discount on something that no one else can.  I’d whip my email address out for something I’d like a discount on, wouldn’t you?

Hopefully, this got you thinking about what you can offer others to build that list.  Putting this all together, what can you learn that is most valuable to others, who is the most influential, and what do you have to give?  The rest is just presentation right…

Get Your Hall Pass Permission for Email Marketing!

Get the Goat Head, I mean Go Ahead, before Suggesting

How many times have you seen an alien email hit your inbox?  For the most part known as spam, it’s not very effective in terms of conversion.

Contrast that with an email that somebody actually wants to read and receive.  Your open rate will sky rocket and your eventual suggestions will get the attention they need.  Check out what a famous marketer, Seth Godin, thinks permission marketing is.

Looking around in our industry surfing I think there is a lack of list building that reflects a personal nature and relationship building.  Some may argue that there is a lack of list building in general.  It begs the question why when there is a tool to easily help you email market.  You can learn to make your own capture pages as well.

You may see websites from affiliates that ask for an email address and those sites may already have made email series, but, the personal, original construction of an email series is kind of rare.  If sticking out is part of the marketing game then taking on this little bit of extra work is worth it.

People are looking for unique, accurate insight that they can’t get any where else.  Many times I believe our industry is short on ideas to attract email subscriptions and what to write about.

I’d like to brain storm with you.  Free, helpful stuff is always a good trade for an email.

Ideas to Capture an Email Address

Remember the personal branding.  Think about putting your picture or video on the capture page.  Lastly, treat your list right by providing useful information to show you care.

List building has the advantage of potential repeat sales and it’s a low cost way of internet business when it comes down to it.  Constructing an entire website requires a bigger investment and you may not be ready for that.

3 Simple Steps to Mastermind Email Marketing

1. The Most Important Part – the Email Subject Header

There is already an article written on this that I would like to steer you towards.  Please read the Top 8 Subject Line Formulas to Get Your Emails Opened.

2. The Body of the Email

A. Write Specifically for Your Separate Lists– Ask yourself what question and/or value is your customer or member needing.

B. Personalize Your Emails Using Your Email Service

“as high as 70% don’t personalize emails”- SourceLink Craig Blake

A whopping high statistic.  Are you a part of that statistic missing out on conversions?  Establishing a connection with your email list is critical and 70% of emails are failing the most basic thing, a personalized greeting.

C. Don’t Be Cold– Language is important. Don’t leave your readers with cold language.
Use pronouns to be more personable.  I, We, You, etc. all help a personal conversation happen.

D. Your subject header should set the tone for your email

Don’t mislead your audience by stating one thing in your subject header and deliver them something completely different.  You will lose trust this way.

E. Make Your Emails Ready for Quick Scans

People receive a lot of emails.  They will most likely be scanning yours.  You need to be easy to read and make your point fast with short sentences.  Use darkened text to show your main points.

3. The Call to Action- The Moment of Truth for Your Email

“Studies have shown that consumers tend to actively respond more frequently when they’ve read more verbs.”-Krista Bunskoek Wishpond

A. Keep Your Call to Action on the Higher Part of the Screen

This is pretty straight forward.  Your reader may not even give you enough time to scroll down so have your call to action high in the email.

B. A Single, Stand Out Call to Action Works the Best

Make it very easy and clear what you want your reader to do.  A button with a clear call to action message can work wonders.  Use this free button creator for your emails.

Don’t forget a P.S. as a place for an important message.  Many readers might see the top and quickly find your P.S. message that’s it.

In Summary, think logically about email writing.  Our goal is to not lose the reader at any point.  The subject header grabs their attention.  The body quickly explains the email clearly.  Then we are very specific about what we would like the reader to do, the call to action.  Now go out there and write some amazing, converting emails.

Do What You Love, and it’s the PLAN that follows

Do What You Love, Plan, Execute, then the Money Will Follow

I’m biting off a pretty big piece of meat here.  It’s a very involved subject.  I think a whole book could be written about it, but, we’re just gonna keep it short.  I’ll also keep it geared towards our industry, however, it’s implications are far and wide.

People love to say do what you love and the money will followI think the statement is incomplete, confusing, and misleading.  It should be Do What You Love, Plan, Execute, then the Money Follows.

LOVE

Let’s take the example that you love playing the guitar.  First, you need to master what you love.  Not all people that practice very hard at the guitar will become virtuoso’s.  I do believe with a lot of practice that most of us will become really good guitar players.  Just as I believe that with practice, many of us can become really good at an online specialty(business).

PLAN

Being pretty good at something is where business takes over.  Now how many connections do you have for the business.  Who do you know?  Do you understand that you have to go out and meet like minded people.  You need to go out and find a band just like you need to find a supportive group for your online business.  So go network, your business will thank you for it.

Next, you have to market yourself.  You have to promote.  In the beginning nobody knows about you.  This is why everyone is in selling whether they like it or not.  People buy you the guitar player or support You and Your online specialty.

DO

This is the take action part of the formula.  The journey of 10,000 miles starts with one step.  Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.  Everybody makes them.  Execute your plan.  A great quote I read “Vision without Execution is Delusion”- Author Unknown  So get out there and start your business!

Taking this to our industry of traffic exchanges etc.  What do you love about it?  Do you love collecting Hot Bucks? Then how can you bring value to others to share in your passion?  Maybe you want to collect email addresses and tell them where the best places are to find them. Maybe you will explain the different kinds and the leader board contest. Perhaps you love traffic exchanges so much you want to start your own. If so read all about our journey here.

So you see there is a little more to it than just do what you love.

It should be Do What You Love, Plan, Execute, then the Money Follows.

Turn People On Not Off – Your Brand with Value

Greetings,

Building your brand is a big deal to your business. But, instead of using the word brand and being vague, let’s define it.
I like to think of brand as presence. I also like to think brand is about recognizing value with YOU.

Now we can brand ourselves with a picture, name, logo, and/or video. A successful brand is one where it is seen and it is connected with strong value.

As a beginner, or relatively new person, I would suggest presenting your target audience with something of very specific value.

A broad subject you won’t have enough experience with and there is also competition in more general fields.  As a first project, you might be the master of the Legacyhits traffic exchange.  Your face, name, and/or video is seen all over connected with Legacyhits and you deliver a masterful understanding and break down of the traffic exchange’s features(the Value).

You back a good program, start to gain trust, your giving value, and then what?

Then you take on another small project or a little broader subject and the snowball of your success is on it’s way.

Did you know value has so many forms?  Have you thought of all these?
1. Clear, Easy to Absorb Information
2. Free Software, or after you have established trust, a paid software suggestion
3. Entertainment
4. Hospitality- Are you respectful, listen, and kind. That’s a value too!

When we become trusted and liked by providing value, then this in a way, grants us permission to make thoughtful suggestions that may lead to sales.

P.S. There is a community out there in traffic exchanges, participate in its chats, make connections in twitter, facebook, skype, and above all else provide value 🙂

Included here is a Podcast, easy to listen to audio file on the above subject.
