Mind Blowing Secrets of Content Marketing and Blogging

Mind Blowing!

Mind blowing is subjective!  But, this just might be the super charge your looking for to producing quality content, blogging, and distribution all in one article.

We will begin with what is 10x content or remarkable, outstanding information.  We are going to refer to Rand Fishkin and his quick chart.

1. Provides a uniquely positive user experience through the user interface, visuals, layout, fonts, patterns, etc.
2. Delivers content that is some substantive combination of high-quality, trustworthy, useful, interesting, and
Is considerably different in scope and detail from other works on similar topics
3. Loads quickly and is usable on any device or browser
4. Creates an emotional response of awe, surprise, joy, anticipation, and/or admiration
5. Has achieved an impressive quantity of amplification (through shares on social networks and/or links)
6. Solves a problem or answers a question by providing comprehensive, accurate, exceptional information or resources.

If your interested in this a little bit more I have written on it here, Are You Strong Enough to Be a Marketing Artist?  In addition, you may be interested in the ways content can be constructed, 3 Laws to Abide for Content Marketing.  Here is an example of 10x in action, Top 7 Indispensable Apps for Entrepreneurs by Mandy Arthur.

There are tons of different kinds of Content

Use this chart from Hubspot to get ideas and make sure to make it 10x!

Next up is distribution and we will be working with social media quite a bit.  So fasten your seat belts.  We’ll start with optimizing our tweets at twitter with the proper hash tag.  The program we will use is Ritetag.  Just open this in google chrome so it makes everything in this article work together.  It has a 7 day free trial so signup and download the extension.  This program integrates with your twitter.  I’ve met the CEO of Ritetag, Saul Fleishman, on  He is a really nice guy.

By the way if you need to manage extensions in chrome just open your browser, then in the top right click on the three horizontal bars, then select “more tools” then “extensions” from the drop down menu.  If you want to add an extension scroll to the way bottom of this screen and click on “Get More Extensions”.  Then search for the extension you desire.

The above is handy because next we are going to add the extension “sniply – Drive Conversion Through Content” This thing is cool it adds a call to action to the content that you pass out to others.  Example: I’ll share Mandy’s article but notice the call to action added in the bottom left. can be used completely free!  Thanks to Laura Rubinstein for her suggestion.

Lastly, grab the program Hootsuite.  It’s another program that can be used for free to share to twitter, facebook, and linkedin all from one place.  It can also handle google+ and facebook pages.  There is a limit of three unless your upgraded.

Hootsuite in Action on Google Chrome

If your using Hootsuite and have the extensions ritetag and the sniply one then this stuff is all set to go.  The extension will prompt you to snip links automatically.  The ritetag info there will give you hash tag suggestions and show you the influencers for the word.  Also, Ritetag will tell you the number of tweets, number of retweets, and total viewers on an hourly basis.  You will notice content marketing is listed as a good key word in green.  If it were to appear in red it would be considered over used and to have too much competition.

Use this free tool to quickly analyze your blog headline.  Get that blog read with Coschedule.

WordPress Plugins:

This is a free plug in that has a ton of free stuff.  I use it for two things.  One, you may have noticed a subscribe box(they call it a scroll box) that pops in on you from the top right.  This works great with an email service provider or Auto-Responder.  Capture email addresses from people that want to subscribe.  My personal take is that giving something away in addition will boost its success rate.  Second, it provides a nice social media tray that you will see reveal itself on the left hand side.

Ultimate Social Media Plus Plugin– I use this to put social buttons on the bottom of my posts and send a prompt to share after a user spends a certain amount of time on the blog.  Another free feature.

To cap off this whopper of a post if your interested in doing podcasts(audio casts) there is a free tool to use called Audacity.  It is a free download of software that is pretty easy to use.

In summary, we have covered content creation and how to make you competitive in today’s market.  Then we discussed the distribution of your content by social media in general and by way of blog through email marketing.

What Does the Big D Mean for Your Business Success?

Design is Critical to Your Business Let’s Explore

Splash Example 2

Don’t Run Away too fast.  Further down are tips on how to use Adkreator, a Design Software.  Jump to the video tips now if you need too.

Are you the black sheep of your family?  Well, if you are then you stick out and probably get noticed more.  In our industry video is under used and that makes it stick out from other advertisements just because it isn’t seen as much.  Video also helps make a connection with your audience because the speaker is life like and personal.

Splash 1– The design is simpler than 2 and very easy to read.  There is a little bit of a 3-d effect with the gold brown fire back ground to help it come off the screen a little.  The page performed reasonably in the surf.  If you want to use it just click on it, join the site, and find splash 11.  The call to action button brings it home and it’s important to have in your splashes.  The button could have used more of an action word in it, but, what the heck that page is done 🙂

Splash 2– The reason I wanted to show you this page is more information is given on the left hand side.  It’s true that some surf without sound on and that leaves the message of your video void unless they stop to listen.  Therefore, having a nice design and a message is important to video splashes in case they don’t watch or listen to the video.  This is Splash 6 from the Cash Surfing Network and it is the 2nd best performing page, behind 9, and it’s my belief 9 is ahead only because of the target we use it at.

Splash Example 3

Splash 3– I included this splash page to show one without a video.  In particular, I’d like to call attention to the up to 35% commissions popping out towards the viewer.  Pages that use a come off the page feel/effect will do better.  This is splash 19 in your affiliate area at the Cash Surfing Network.

These pages were not designed by a professional and if you can afford it I suggest going right to doing that.  It just saves time and it’s better on your business to do so.  However, design costs will start adding up so learning to design your own with adkreator is useful.

Adkreator Tips! You can upload your own personal background image to not only stand out, but you can produce something quite visually impressive versus a standard template.  Another nice tip. Use, a free service, to bring in some very creative text to help you out.  You can upload back grounds and the text as you do a normal picture.  I get my backgrounds often from .

We can’t leave ad kreation without talking about capture or squeeze pages.  These ads collect an email address.  It will need an email service(auto-responder) to work.  Capturing email addresses, while a little more work because you have to write emails, is the preferred method.  You can have repeat contact with your subscriber for repeat sales.  It’s nice to do the work once and get paid multiple times.  I’m sure you’ll agree there.

3 Laws to Abide for Content Marketing

This is a logical study and personal story about meeting peoples needs, promotion, and momentum in delivering a message.

Content marketing in many ways is setting up the passageway of communication. By distributing quality material to our followship a trust is built. Then there is the trade off of value. You simply reward someone with your eyeballs, ears, or both if you like what they give you. It can be helpful to think of Content Marketing as Value Marketing.

  1. Meeting Peoples Needs– I find it highly logical to meet people where they like to be, meaning different platforms, and meet their needs in the way they like to receive information.

   A. AUDIO– I use Podcasts(recorded audio) to distribute information to people that like to listen.  This is perfect for someone that wants to listen while driving, surfs, or wants to multi task with about anything.

   B. Written Word– Shouldn’t be a shocker here, but I share things to be read on… drumroll…… a wordpress blog!  Some people enjoy reading so rock some blogging out.

   C. VIDEOS– I use Blab and You Tube Recordings to pass information out.  I’ve found that visual how to’s at You Tube seem to get the most views for me without advertising.  I suspect that if your not doing that much visually people are probably like, hey, why didn’t you just give me the audio on this 🙂  Also, watching a video is more demanding on computer resources than listening to an audio or reading a blog.

QUICK TIP: If you do content marketing yourself then visit this previous post to find out how you can quickly produce content video and audio, Two Birds with One Stone Content on Blab!

2. Promotion– I was reading somewhere that producing good content is not enough these days.  I can easily see why this is the case.  The rest of the internet caught up with content marketing strategy.  I just believe its harder for a piece of content to take off because there is so much of it out there.  Solution… Your content needs to be promoted harder than in the near past.

It is a recent personal experience that I would like to bring up right now.  I published 4 podcasts in September of 2015 and stopped.  They all had like less than 15 listens.  I looked at my results and thought, sheesh, this isn’t worth it.  Luckily, I started doing podcasts again with my business partner and I let our membership base know.  Things started progressing as people found out and supported the podcasts.  Now there is just shy of 35,000 listens as I write this and I think that is a much better start. This brings us to our last point.

3. Momentum– So what caused the big difference in results?  Just having the number of listens increase a little by promoting it gave the podcasts a group validation or approval stamp.  Then it seems people were more likely to listen and/or share.

The moral of the story is work on producing good content.  Look around you at the many examples that people are doing.  No need to copy them exactly as that makes it harder for you to stand out.  You could ask people that you work around if your unsure of your content quality.  Next, find a way to promote it.  While it costs you your time, you can easily promote with social media such as twitter, facebook, etc.  Lastly, stay the course until momentum has taken some hold.

Before I sign off, I’d like to talk about something I heard Brian Fanzo state in a blab.  He stated that you should have different content at different platforms so people are more apt to follow you everywhere.  I agree with that conditionally.  As long you make darn sure everyone knows that you have exclusive content on x at said platform.  If they don’t know, it becomes an issue, as we discussed promotion already above.  In addition, I think that written, audio, and video should be available if possible for most things.  Using exclusive content to a platform should be used to maximize a following so that when you need to get an important message out, you find that person where they are.

I think its clear how important momentum is after reading this.  Rest assured, every ounce of support you give the Legacy Team is appreciated.  If you enjoyed the article please share it to facebook, twitter, g+, and anything else you can think of 🙂

3 Quick Moves for Social Media Success

I’ve been using for quite a while now. Today we are going to cover three quick moves to get your message out there.

  1. Record your blab– Blab makes it insanely easy to record what you share.  After you start your blab it’s in the upper left to start and end your recording.  Your video will be stored for free.
  2.  Upload to Youtube– One click will upload your video to Youtube.  I love this feature.  After your show has ended just find your recorded show.  I just use the search box for “Legacy Hour”, the name of our show to find it.  I click on it and then on the left hand side I press “Upload to Youtube”.  Amazingly easy.
  3. Download the Audio from an Email from Blab– After recording your show and it has ended, eventually an email will arrive in your registered email with blab.  You can download the audio and video from here.  The audio is in mp3 format and you can easily upload it to a Podcast Site.

That’s it!  Three quick moves to get your message out with blab.

Have an amazing weekend
